In early 2012 the ICT Supporters Trust Board took the decision to look at the operation of the Trust with a view to making changes that we felt would better represent our role and position within the wider ICT supporting community.

The first of these changes was the introduction of the new model rules at the last AGM. A copy of these, and attaching policies, can be found by clicking here.

The second of these changes came following feedback from Supporters Direct (our umbrella organisation) who have been in discussions with the Scottish Executive to secure funding assistance. Whilst it was agreed that the Supporters Trust movement was far reaching within the football community, it was felt that more needed to be done to encourage fans to become members of their relevant Trusts.

Having investigated the options open to us, looked at what others had done to achieve the same goals and considered feedback we’d had from ICT fans. It soon became apparent that as a Community Benefit Organisation, then it made sense that membership should be available to all without the added cost member benefits.

With immediate effect, the membership fee has been reduced to £1 and the annual renewal fee set at zero, as we feel this is in line with the inclusive nature of Supporters Trusts. All existing members will continue to be members (no need to pay the £1) and will receive current benefits until the membership renewal date of 31st August 2012.

What about Member Benefits?

• As the Trust holds a special voting right of 10% and normal voting rights attaching to a further 10,000 shares in Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC then the obvious benefit to all our members is having a say...or "A Voice" as it is more commonly called.
• All members who are age 16 and over are allowed to attend General Meetings, vote on matters therein and stand for election to the Supporters Trust Board.
• All members over the age of 16 receive 1 share in the Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters Society Ltd

All other benefits will be offered via a seperate Member Benefits Scheme.  We will be working with the football club, and any other companies or organisations who are interested in partnering with us, to put together one or more packages of benefits which will be offered on a seperate subscription basis.  Keep your eyes open for further details in due course.
