What are the aims of The Supporters Trust?

The ICT Supporters Trust has 5 objectives written in to it's rules.  These are:

  • Being the democratic and representative voice of the supporters of the Club and strengthening the bonds between the Club and the communities which it serves;
  • Achieving the greatest possible supporter and community influence in the running and ownership of the Club;
  • Promoting responsible and constructive community engagement by present and future members of the communities served by the Club and encouraging the Club to do the same;
  • Operating democratically, fairly, sustainably, transparently and with financial responsibility and encouraging the Club to do the same;
  • Being a positive, inclusive and representative organisation, open and accessible to all supporters of the Club regardless of their age, income, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexuality or religious or moral belief.

Do the Supporters Trust own shares in Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC?

  • We hold 108 shares which entitle us to a 10% voting right in the club.  This is a fixed voting right which is written into the Articles of the Football Club and is not effected by any other share purchases;
  • At the time of writing, we also hold a further 10,000 shares which carry normal voting rights;

We also have a Supporters Club. What is the difference between it and a Supporters Trust?

  • The biggest difference is that the Supporters Trust are a not-for-profit organisation who focus more on Community, as opposed to Members, benefits;
  • A Supporters Trust is constituted as an Industrial and Provident Society (IPS), which gives it access to resources and funding not available to Supporters Clubs;
  • A Supporters Trust is committed to democracy, transparency and accountability.  We operate on an entirely democratic "One Member, One Vote" basis which gives everyone an equal say;
